The HALO Program provides a higher education experience for students ages 18 - 28 with intellectual and/or developmental disability or other learning challenges through two options and additional campus resources.
The HALO Initial 2-Year Program is a 2 year non-degree credential. Students work to gain an understanding of academics, soft skills, and life skills necessary for a successful transition to adulthood. These goals are met through structured course work, integration into campus life, and independence while on campus.
The HALO Expansion Year assists students in answering the question "What Next?" when looking at the future. In 2023 the HALO Program was provided the ICCB Innovative Bridge and Transition Grant to create an Expansion Year. This pilot expansion year is designed to assist students in navigating their next steps in life. Whether that be through college credit courses, certificate offerings, or working towards gainful employment our pilot year will assist students in navigating their next steps.
