Diverse Scholars Program

The Diverse Scholars Program at Framingham State University provides opportunities for transition-aged students with intellectual and developmental disabilities (18-22), to engage in FSU courses, internships, and student life. We believe inclusion and participation by all students is essential for a thriving community of learners. Students in the Diverse Scholars Program gain access to: University Coursework: students can audit one general education course aligned with the student’s interest and long-term employment goals.  Vocation and Employment Support: students participate in job skills training such as resume workshops, interview skills, job informational sessions, and internships related to student’s interests and goals. Peer-Mentoring: students are connected with college peers through an on-site mentoring program.  Throughout the semester, peer mentors and program participants cover a range of topics related to social and independent living skills. Campus Events: students are encouraged to attend any of the several campus events open to FSU community as well as become a member of one of the many student clubs and affinity groups.  Access to FSU Facilities: students have access to FSU facilities and resources including but not limited to the athletic center, dining hall, library, and game room.  Students can attend this program if they:  Are from a partnering school district \ Have not passed the MCAS or Have passed the MCAS but only after multiple attempts.
