The Postsecondary Support Project offers on-going coaching support to students with significant support needs at Kapiolani, Honolulu, Leeward, Windward, and UH Manoa. Our goal is to create inclusive postsecondary education opportunities for students with intellectual, developmental and other disabilities at each UH System Community College Campus. We are a thrice funded TPSID (Transition Programs for Students with Intellectual Disabilities) Grantee and also receive support from The Hawai‘i Developmental Disabilities Division and the Hawai‘i Division of Vocational Rehabilitation. Students receive educational coaching that prepares them to navigate the UH System, develop good academic skills, stay on track with their students, improve their “soft-skills,” and prepares students to learn about self determination and develop or improve their visions for their futures. Students are also are given summer employment opportunities on their college campuses.

| Description of our summer transition program: | Our name does not change, however in the summer we have many different possible programs for new and current students: 1. Camp Manoa- PSP provides an Inclusive training offered to incoming and current college students to learn the components of Self Determination, set goals for the upcoming semester and dorm on campus for the duration of the camp. 2. PSP Summer Employment- PSP partners with various programs on campus where students can work and build on their employment skills in the summer. 3. Summer transitional coaching to continue to work on building various skillsets. 4. Summer Academic Coaching for students taking a summer IHE course at a college campus. |
