Massachusetts Inclusive Concurrent Enrollment Initiative (MAICEI): Emerging Trends 2019

The Massachusetts Inclusive Concurrent Enrollment Initiative (MAICEI) is sponsoring a free one-day conference called Emerging Trends 2019. This conference highlights emerging and evidence-based practices that promotes college career readiness for students with disabilities.

Meg Grigal, Ph.D., Co-Director of Think College, will be delivering the keynote presentation called "Higher Education for Students with Intellectual Disability: Profiles of Effective Practice."

Session topics include:
Campus-wide inclusive practices
Effective academic support methods
Peer mentoring
Facilitating school-college partnerships
Securing university and school buy-in
Parent engagement
STEM opportunities for students with autism
Key components of an educational coach institute

The goals of this conference are 1) to share information on emerging and evidence-based college-based transition services that are authentically inclusive; 2) to promote ideas, discussion and collaboration amongst MAICEI partners, parents and additional stakeholders; and 3) to facilitate networking and collaboration among partnerships and attendees.
