Pacific Rim International Conference on Disability and Diversity
This conference, hosted by the Center on Disability Studies (CDS), College of Education, University of Hawaii at Manoa, is proud to be putting on the 34th Pac Rim conference. At this year's Conference, participants can expect an experience that will allow for:
- Sharing of practices that will inspire actions that lead to positive change when participants go home
- Time for networking and creative exchanges before, during, and after presentations and workshops
- Platforms from which new partnerships will emerge between people with disabilities and their communities, among parents, policymakers, and service providers, between idea generators and professionals, between researchers and trainers, and among Hawaiians, Mainlanders, and international visitors
- A venue that is fully accessible and enhances the conference experience
The conference topics for Pac Rim 2019 are Education, Employment, Accessibility, and Health and Wellbeing. Within each of these four themes we are especially interested in presentations that address strategies to develop and use interdisciplinary teams effectively, achieve successful transitions, promote healthy social emotional development, and integrate disabilities studies.
