MIHEC Learning Community Event: Embracing Dignity of Risk

This event, hosted by the Minnesota Inclusive Higher Education Consortium (MIHEC), will feature a discussion about the importance of the dignity of risk for students with intellectual disabilities who are pursuing an inclusive postsecondary education (IPSE). The presenters are Christopher Worth and Magen Rooney-Kron, PhD. Chris Worth is a community organizer, sexuality educator, and college instructor at University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL). Magen Rooney-Kron, PhD, is an assistant professor and researcher at UMSL. They will be joined by a student who will share the student perspective.

State Alliance Capacity Building Institute at 2023 SEPSEA Conference

The Think College Inclusive Higher Education Network, in partnership with the Southeast Postsecondary Education Alliance (SEPSEA), will host a state alliance capacity building institute (CBI) as a breakout session strand at the 2023 SEPSEA Conference, May 17-19, 2023 in Nashville, TN. The CBI will focus on supporting the development and expansion of state alliances for inclusive postsecondary education (IPSE) across the United States. Those who have active state alliances or those who are interested in bringing state partners together are invited to join us! 

Inclusive Post Secondary Education (IPSE) Oklahoma/Texas Summit

OK IPSE Alliance is excited to announce the FIRST Inclusive Post Secondary Education (IPSE) Summit in Oklahoma that will bring together representatives from IPSE programs in Oklahoma and Texas to share about their programs as well as representatives with Think College to share the national perspective. A student panel will also take place in the afternoon, which is a great opportunity for current K-12 students to hear from students attending IPSE programs. Vendors are welcome and space is limited, so please register early to be part of this event!

MIHEC March Learning Community Event: The Portable Credential and Planning for Life After College

At this event, hosted by the Minnesota Inclusive Higher Education Consortium (MIHEC), Dr. Christi Kasa, from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, will share two important aspects of Colorado’s inclusive postsecondary education programs -- The Portable Credential and Planning for Life After College. She will be joined by one of her students who will share their experience.
