The Think College National Coordinating Center provides coordination, technical assistance, training, and evaluation for Transition and Postsecondary Education Programs for Students with Intellectual Disabilities (TPSID). The NCC also provides on-demand technical assistance, training resources, and support to all college programs for students with ID, families and students. We develop and disseminate resources aimed at increasing knowledge of the evidence-based practices needed to develop, implement, and evaluate high-quality higher education opportunities for students with intellectual disability. Think College NCC is funded by the US Department of Education, Office of Postsecondary Education.

TPSID Grantees

Transition and Postsecondary Programs for Students with Intellectual Disability, or TPSID, are model demonstration projects funded by the US Department of Education.  The NCC supports the work of TPSID grantees by collecting and analyzing data on program design and student experiences in order to increase knowledge about the impact and outcomes of postsecondary education for students with intellectual disability.  Learn more about the TPSID grantees.

NCC Partners

  • AHEAD logoAssociation On Higher Education And Disability (AHEAD):  AHEAD is a member organization for disability resource professionals, student affairs personnel, ADA coordinators, diversity officers and others who are invested in creating welcoming higher education experiences for disabled individuals. AHEAD assists the NCC with arrangments for its annual TPSID Project Director Meeting and is conducting a survey of disability support professionals regarding their experiences with and attitudes toward college programs for students with ID.
  • AUCD logoAssociation of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD): The Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD) is a membership organization that supports a national network of university-based interdisciplinary programs.  AUCD supports the National Coordinating Center by tracking state and federal legislation related to postsecondary education for students with ID and coordinates activities related to the development of leadership and advocacy skills in students with disabilities.
