Think College Wisconsin State Plan: Increasing Opportunities for Inclusive Postsecondary Education for People with Intellectual Disabilities
In 2011, the Waisman Center received a strategic planning grant to coordinate the development of a Wisconsin state plan. This plan represents a commitment to supporting the lifelong learning of all individuals in Wisconsin. Through summits and numerous conversations, stakeholders in our state shared their ideas, experiences, and suggestions for expanding college options.
The plan includes three goals to support our state's development of more inclusive college opportunities.
1. Assure Leadership is in place to promote development of postsecondary education opportunities.
2. Make best use of the K-12 experience to prepare students for postsecondary education.
3. Nurture development of postsecondary opportunities in colleges and universities.
