SOTA Presentation: Progress on the Pathways to Accreditation

The model program accreditation standards released in 2020 will shape the future of inclusive postsecondary education in important ways. With over 308 postsecondary education programs in the U.S. enrolling over 6,500 students with ID, the implementation of accreditation standards and the accompanying process will be transformational to the field. This session discussed the current status of the accreditation process as well as the recommendations from the recent Report to Congress. This session was presented by: Martha Mock Associate Dean for Academic Affairs University of Rochester, Debra Hart, Director of Education and Transition, Institute for Community Inclusion, and, Stephanie Smith Lee, Senior Policy Advisor, National Down Syndrome Congress.
