Lessons about Self-Advocacy

Lessons about Self-Advocacy

This resource is called the Self-Advocacy Curriculum. This curriculum was made by National Autism Resource and Information Center. A curriculum has a lot of information that teaches you something. Teachers use curriculums when they are planning what they want to teach their students.

This teaches about important self-advocacy organizations. It gives a short history about self-advocacy and how you can start your own advocacy group. It also gives lessons on things like ableism, mentorship, and identity-first language. The good thing about a curriculum is that it teaches what all these things are. One of our favorite lessons is about words that are confusing.
