California Assembly Bill 2920: Inclusive College Pilot Programs

California Assembly Bill 2920: Inclusive College Pilot Programs

Introduced in February 2022, this bill would expand the existing inclusive college programs in California by requiring the California State University, and requesting the University of California, to establish pilot inclusive college programs for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities at 4-year public postsecondary educational institutions. Existing law already provides for the definition and functions of these programs in California – such as person-centered planning, and inclusive environments, supports and services. The bill does not provide the appropriations (funding) to pay for the programs. That money would have to be passed separately. The bill was referred to the Assembly’s Committee on Higher Education in March 2022.
