Combined Affinity Group Meeting: VR, Policy & Student Credentials-- August 2020
This is the recording of the Combined Affinity Group meeting which occurred on August 12, 2020. The public policy, vocational rehabilitation, and student credentials groups met together to discuss the intersection of these three topics as they relate to inclusive higher education. This meeting featured two invited guest speakers:
Mary Hauff, advocate and parent from Minnesota, will share a “case study” of the work being done to build partnerships across stakeholders including VR, colleges and universities, and multiple state entities to clear a wider path for students with ID who want to go to college.
Lauren Bruno and Jennifer Cremers, University of Iowa REACH program, will share an overview of the program’s use of WorkKeys as a tool to increase access to evidence-based credentials earned by students with ID.
