The Institute on Disabilities at Temple University is seeking a Coordinator for Academic Relations for its Leadership & Career Studies (L&CS), a four-year inclusive postsecondary initiative for students with intellectual disabilities. The successful candidate will be the liaison with faculty and administration and is responsible for overseeing the enrollment of L&CS students in undergraduate and continuing education courses at Temple University. The Coordinator of Academic Relations will conduct Person Centered Planning for students and will serve as a student advisor. They will work with each student and faculty member in developing accommodation plans for students; monitor academic progress; attend student Individual Support Plan (ISP) meetings; and facilitate course registration, acquisition of textbooks and assist with other academic needs. The successful candidate will also be responsible for quarterly billing. The candidate must have three years of experience working with students with intellectual disabilities and a demonstrated passion for inclusive practices. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. A Certified Teacher is preferred. Additional requirements include demonstrated computer skills, and proficiency with MS Office Suite; excellent organizational skills; ability to prioritize and multi-task; strong customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with a diverse population of students, faculty and staff; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work occasional nights/weekends/early mornings; ability to travel to locations across Pennsylvania and occasionally nationwide. This position is responsible for the overall management of the Life Planning division and instruction of its related curricular components and works in partnership with other key divisions of the Integrative Community Studies program of study to support students and families. This leadership position is designed to shape and foster maturing student and family relationships, contributing to student retention, positive student outcomes and family satisfaction.
