The first annual Student Leadership Conference (SLC) is a parallel conference that will run concurrent to the State of the Art Conference on November 15+16, 2017 in Syracuse, NY. The SLC is an opportunity for current and future college students to:
- Interact with their peers
- Make social and professional connections
- Gain useful knowledge and tools to empower their transition into college life
- Expand their potential to serve as student advocates and leaders in the growing field of inclusive higher education
The SLC is focused on college students with intellectual disabilities and the conference is committed to centering their voices, wisdom, and experiences. The SLC is open to all students, with an emphasis on young adults who are transitioning into college and current college students. The focus is on students with intellectual disabilities and their peers, including traditionally enrolled friends, classmates, and mentors.
