Introducing Arin Rook!

The Think College team excitedly welcomes Arin Rook as the new Knowledge Translation Associate for the Think College Inclusive Higher Education Network project.

Prior to joining the Institute for Community Inclusion (ICI), Arin (they/them/theirs) worked as the coordinator of campus-wide Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) training efforts at the University of California, Riverside. While at UC Riverside, Arin served as a founding member of the Chancellor’s Advisory Committee on Disability Inclusion, and the UC system-wide workgroup focused on digital inclusion and access. Arin is incredibly passionate about digital accessibility, Disability Justice, and helping to build a culture of belonging and inclusion for everyone in higher education.

We are delighted to welcome Arin to the team!

I’m Arin (they/them/theirs), and I’m thrilled to join the Think College Inclusive Higher Education Network team! I have been working in higher education and K-12 institutions for the last twelve years. The primary focus of my work has been supporting student success, identity development, and career placement for historically underrepresented students navigating higher education. As a Disabled and Neurodivergent person myself, creating more access and equity in higher education is deeply personal for me and drives all my work. I currently reside in sunny Southern California and in my free time I enjoy roller skating, playing video games, and cooking new recipes. I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as a member of Think College Inclusive Higher Education Network. I look forward to serving as a Knowledge Translation Associate and helping to share, uplift, and expand the important work of Think College.
