Here at Think College, we're proud of our College Search page, which lets students and parents explore college options across the U.S. As of September 2017, there are 270 colleges and universities with programs for students with intellectual disability, and the number is growing steadily.
If you're a student or a family member looking at colleges, it can be tricky to choose the right school. That's why our project director, Cate Weir, collaborated with parents to write up this guide: Conducting a College Search: Questions to Ask College Programs.
The guide is organized as a questionnaire. Students and their family members can bring it along when they visit colleges or meet with staff from college programs that include students with intellectual disability.
The questions address academic offerings, career planning, residential access, financial aid, and more.
